Applications for 2025 are open.
Application forms
Please ensure you have read and understood the criteria before applying.
Please complete the relevant form (one per young person):
Either:
- Form 1: For completion by the parent/guardian of the young person
OR:
- Form 2: For completion by applicants who are NOT related to the young person eg: Youth Leader
Who can apply?
The David Chilcott Fund has been set up to assist disadvantaged children and young people to attend Christian holidays and conferences, who without financial help would be unable to attend.
Applications are considered against criteria which include those receiving benefits, accessing foodbanks, single parent families, and parents with a disability. We appreciate that due to the cost-of-living challenges that every family in the UK is facing, finances are tough for many. We would love to be able to give a bursary to every young person; however, as the fund is limited, we must prioritise the bursaries to those with the greatest financial need.
The guidelines below have been established to honour the way the David Chilcott Fund was established.
The funding covers:
- Children aged between 6-18 years old
- Attendance at a child or youth-based UK holiday, camp or conference with a Christian faith-based focus
The funding does NOT cover:
- Attendance at Christian holidays or conferences that are open to all ages
- Attendance at school residentials or family holidays, camps, events or festivals
- Attendance at activities organised by a church or group of churches
- Youth group residentials run by churches or organisations
Important information about how bursaries are provided.
Any bursaries awarded will be paid directly to the organisation running the residential.
Bursaries are always given on the understanding that, should any recipient(s) be unable to attend, then the money for their holiday(s) will be returned for future applications.
Each individual child / young person can be awarded a maximum of one bursary award in any twelve month period.
Who should complete the application form?
The bursary application form should be completed and submitted by the child/young person's parent/guardian/sponsor.
How much will the fund give?
A contribution towards the cost of the holiday/conference will be awarded, paid to the Christian holiday/conference centre. As the funds are limited and we want to be able to help as many children/young people as possible, the maximum amount awarded per applicant will usually be up to one third of the cost of the holiday. However, there is an 'Additional Information' box in the application form, if there are exceptional circumstances that you would like to be taken into consideration.
When to apply?
Applications to the David Chilcott Fund, should ideally be submitted at least 1 month before the intended date of the holiday. If less than this, please contact CRNet.
Outcome of application
Upon receipt of a completed application, CRNet will contact your nominated referee for a supporting statement. Please ensure your referee is aware of this.
The supporting statement, together with the application form, will be considered by CRNet, whose decision is final. There is no appeal process.
The parent/guardian/sponsor of the young person will be updated by email as to the progress and outcome of the application.
Additional Information
If the child/young person, having been awarded a bursary from the fund, is unable to attend the Christian holiday/conference, then the amount awarded will be returned to the David Chilcott Fund.
Please email CRNet if you have any questions.
